Sometimes I really wish I lived back in New Orleans while all my friends are still celebrating and enjoying Mardi Gras season attending parades all week. I am back to my regular 8 to 5 job with no hint of excitement in the office.

But I do have one thing that is exciting happening here on Texan Couture...

Amy's sent me this package of soups to try along with a nice reusable bag! I have been taking my lunch to work in it.

Amy's is an all organic & vegetarian brand. Amy's is most know for having frozen meals but their other products include soups, beans chili, pasta sauces and salsa.

The soups my package contained were: Spanish Rice & Red Beans, Southwestern Vegetable Soup & Creamy Tomato Bisque



In the package I discovered my absolute new favorite soup Spanish Rice & Red Beans...so good!!

Saints Superbowl! Who Dat!

I wish I could have been in New Orleans for the Superbowl and the start of Mardi Gras but unfortunately since I will be going twice in April for David's friend's wedding & my friend Future Mrs. Bun Bun 's bachelorette party!!! I really did not want to purchase a 3rd set of plane tickets and take off more of my PTO.

I really can not explain why I do not own any Saint's shirts either. So today for the Superbowl I am wearing a black sweater [bought from J. Crew during the huge online sale 2 weeks ago :)]


Accent with Fleur De Lis (New Orleans & the Saints symbol) earrings & ring from Mignon Faget a New Orleans jewelry store I worked for in college.





Of course since the team colors are Black & Gold not Black & Silver I added a hint of gold courtesy of my Tory Burch Revas!



We were told not to worry about bringing any kind of food but I decided to bring my own veggie tray since I am not sure if the party will have anything healthy and I don't want to eat just wings & fries all day. Also bringing along some Blue Moon. I know I should be drinking Abita to support Louisiana today but a Blue Moon with a Slice of Orange just sounds so good today!

One of my favorite places to eat Tacos in Austin is Torchy's Tacos .

Their new North Austin location opened up near my work and only about a 15 min drive from where I live so much better than always having to drive downtown just for these amazing tacos!



Last night David & I headed to the new location for dinner. Now it is not the healthiest place by any means but it is darn good and I think it is okay to splurge on tasty meals every once in awhile!



We shared Chips & Green Chili Queso which is Torchy's in house chips with green chili queso topped off with guacamole, queso fresco, cilantro and diablo sauce. Diablo sauce is fire roasted habanero chilies blended with vinegar, spices, and tomato



I had a "Trailor Park" which is fried chicken (basically just a chicken tender) green chilies, lettuce, pico de gallo, and cheese served on a flour tortilla with poblano ranch. I made it "Trashy" by adding queso on top.

Along with a "Fried Avocado" which is hand battered fresh avocadoes fried and served With vegetarian refried beans, lettuce, pico de gallo and Cheese served on a corn tortilla with poblano ranch sauce.

Don't worry I didn't eat both at the same time!


Today we dropped the dogs off at the groomers, heading to the gym, running a few errands and gearing up for my hometown New Orleans' Saints to win the Superbowl tomorrow!!!

How I wish I was in New Orleans now, one of my best friends is the Queen of Sparta this year she is riding on her Grand Marshall float today as it is the start of Mardi Gras parades along with citywide Superbowl celebrations! I will live vicariously through my friends pic mail and facebook albums :)
