Happy Halloween!

I remember this song playing all the time when I was younger trick or treating: Monster Mash!

I feel completely back to normal, David is a lot better but still kinda sick so we are going to skip out on Halloween festivities tonight, but David's friend from Dallas is coming in town Saturday night so we may do something then.

Have a great Halloween & weekend!!

Back to work

I'm back at work and feeling.. eh... sort of better. My nose is still runny and I woke up with a headache.
My poor boyfriend feels even worse. He is in sales and need to be a work to take conference calls, I think he plans on coming home after his scheduled phone meetings.

But I really think I owe a lot of my wellness to this little guy right here After a doctor recommendation I purchased him at Whole Foods awhile back. You also need to add special salt to go with it, combined with luke warm water and it was wash your sinus cleaning out all the extra yucky stuff making it possible to heal faster. Which is probably why I can breathe and am not completely stopped up. It is also good to do often to rinse out pollen and dust if you have allergies.

David & I were supposed to attend a dinner & pre-Halloween party tonight for his coworker's birthday, not sure if that will happen since we are not feeling well especially if David is planning to leave work early. I also need to go pick up queso and chips as that is what I was assigned to bring for my work's Halloween party tomorrow.

Now I am off to do lots of things I have piled up on my desk, as I have 2 days of work to catch up on.

#1 in the nation!

I am feeling a little better, my throat is not as sore but I still sound horrible due to my stopped up nose. I attempted to go into work today but my boss saw me in the hall and sent me on my way back home. I am taking today to rest up some more I should be somewhat completely back to normal by tomorrow.

In the meantime

So after moving to Austin.... David & I have converted from LSU fans to UT fans...Hook Em Horns!

After going to a few games....

I feel the need to purchase things in Burnt Orange like these items:

Victoria Secret UT sleep set found here

And this shirt would be really cute for games!

Sorry I know most of you are probably not UT fans even though they are #1 in the nation right now, but I just wanted to express how I have been thinking I need more UT stuff! Maybe I'll take the day of resting to play online and search for new cute UT gear.

McCain & Obama Dance-Off

This McCain & Obama Dance-Off video made me laugh and laugh!

Sniffle Sniffle Cough Cough

The Dallas trip was lots of fun, but I believe David & I are both coming down with something. I have been having a terrible sore throat all day and just feeling bad. David called to tell me he is leaving work because he feels so weak and has a fever. That's when I knew it was serious. David has not been sick in the past 2 years we have been together. I really need to be at work tomorrow to do my reports so if I feel any worse the doctor must wait until Wednesday.

I did catch up with Tivo yesterday and now I can add another reality TV show to my season pass list; Stylista. Contestants are competing for a spot to become an editor for Elle magazine. Anything that involves Fashion is a must watch for me! I can't wait to see more behind the scenes at Elle!

Stylista airs Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. central on the CW

I have one more hour of work before I can go home and snuggle with my equally sick boyfriend and a nice glass of warm tea to soothe my throat

TGIF

I will be in Dallas all weekend, making a stop by Sprinkles Cupcakes among other things, but if I were to stay in Austin I would go see this

Excerpt taken from Thrill The World Austin:

"Thrill The World is a worldwide attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest Simultaneous Dance with Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Thousands of people in cities around the world will learn the “Thriller” dance and perform it together on the day that Thrill the World takes place.

In 2007, 1,722 people in 52 cities on 5 continents danced to "Thriller" at exactly the same time, breaking world records. This year, on October 25th, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Austin is going to attempt to do it again, only this time, it will be BIGGER and BETTER!"

**Maybe next year I will participate

Halloween Movies

This past weekend David & I discovered we are no match for Ms. Martha Stewart. Our spooky Halloween House kit did not do so well. The orange icing came out not as thick as it should had which left us with only black icing to work with...leaving not so many ways to design....oh well perhaps we will have better luck with our Christmas Gingerbread House in December

For classic Halloween Films we watched: Monster Squad, Frankenstein, and Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

The candied apples came out great. They were delicious to eat while watching our movies.

We put off pumpkin carving until sometime this week, we had dinner with David's sister, brother in law and their children instead.

Happy Weekend!

I am excited for this weekend! Tonight we are going to a Happy Hour in our community free beer, wine, and food. It is also a charity event donations will go to residents of the Austin Housing Authority and families receiving services from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

Tomorrow we are attending the UT Game complete with tailgating and Sunday David & I are having a mini Halloween fest to get into the spirit. We will be carving a pumpkin, baking the seeds, making candied apples and watching classic Halloween films.

I want Ashley Tisdale's fall look! I love her hair color, her glowing tan and nails!!! I just need my hair to grow out now!

Also on my weekend to do list, well whenever I can get to it... thanks to Tivo is to watch the movie Living Proof!

It was filmed in my old office building in Metairie, LA. I saw Harry in the lobby and def parked my car right by the director chair near our office building entrance. I was just 2 years shy of being old enough to be an extra!

Mani & Pedi Please

After work I need to go grocery shopping, cooking dinner for David ♥ ♥ then giving myself a mani & pedi!

In addition to my wardrobe I also need to update my nail polish colors for Fall!

I am in love with Opi's new collection called "La Collection De France" found here

I love all the colors in the collection but my favorites are:

I need to research a salon here that sales OPI or find an online site to buy them. I must have these colors for this season!

More Fall Fashion

Maybe it's because our high today will be in the 60's or after watching Leanne win last night on Project Runway.... I was thinking about how I need to buy a few essentials items for my fall wardrobe.
Some of my fall fashion must haves!

Peacock Earrings here

Pique Wool Blend Coat here

Knit Cardigan here

Kimichi BLue Button Tab Brushed Dress here

In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different - Coco Chanel

The weekend was relaxing!

In addition to everything we had planned, David & I also did a major fall cleaning to the apartment after we finished we settled in to catch up with Tivo...

My tivo had been holding the lifetime movie Coco Chanel for quite some time. I finally watched it and must say I loved it! It was very fascinating. I am inspired to read her biography now. Her life had hardship growing up in an orphanage, then being used as a play toy for a rich lieutenant and finally the love her life, Boy, marrying someone else, he eventually left his wife and realized Coco was his one true love but died in a car crash on the way to see Coco for Christmas.

Gabrielle Chanel aka Coco Chanel was a very fascinating woman I look forward to reading a more indepth biography about her.

Happy Friday

I am excited for the weekend! The second holiday on call job I mentioned does not start until the week after Thanksgiving! I am free for weekends until then!

Tonight David wants to go see a national Dj he likes so we will be going out. Which I don't mind because smoking is banned in Austin!
In New Orleans anytime we would go out and have a cocktail, I would get sick from my sinus allergies because of the smoke not to mention my clothes and hair smelt like an ashtray!

We are also doing something I like this weekend. The movie "The Duchess" is coming out and I can't wait to see it! I like period pieces a few of my favorites Marie Antoinette, The Other Boylen Girl, Pride & Prejudice, and can't forget Atonement.

Here the synopsis for The Duchess:
A chronicle of the life of 18th century aristocrat Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, who reviled for her extravagant political and personal lives. She is a vibrant beauty and celebrity of her time. But she is trapped in an unhappy triangle with her husband and his live-in mistress. She falls passionately in love with an ambitious young politician, and the affair causes a bitter conflict with her husband and threatens to erupt into a scandal.

I also hope to fit in sometime to read this book. Its called Stop Dressing Your Six-Year Old Like A Skank: And Other Words Of Delicate Southern Wisdom.

Book synopsis:
In some 32 short essays on the ridiculousness of modern life, Rivenbark (Bless Your Heart, Tramp; We're Just Like You, Only Prettier) wanders through Tweenland at the mall, thinking a better name would be "Lil Skanks." She thinks that the Cruise/Holmes pregnancy has an "indescribably delicious" Rosemary's Baby feel to it and recalls that Monica Lewinsky hosted a TV dating show—in which she "didn't get the guy." Rivenbark riffs on America's crazier obsessions—the painful but obligatory pilgrimage to Disney World, the new attention to "buttocks cleavage," coffee makers calling themselves baristas, or those celebrity moms who have "bumps" instead of babies. Rivenbark describes herself as a "slacker mom" and reminds readers to learn something from men—"because no matter how slack a dad is, if he does the least little thing, people gush over him." This is a hilarious read, perhaps best enjoyed while eating Krispy Kremes with a few girlfriends

It is supposed to really funny!

I'm off to finish work for the day anxiously awaiting 5 p.m. to start my fabulous weekend!
