Happy Friday Everyone!
Does everyone have fun plans for the weekend? David & I are planning to go to Zilker Park Kite Festival depending on the weather. Austin will be in the 90's today but we have a cold front coming through and it is supposed to drop in the 40's tonight...crazy Texas weather!!
I am looking for a new spring tote and as everyone knows I am a huge fan of the Marc Jacobs!
I love this style just trying to decided on a color.. opinons?

LobotoMe & Awards
In the new issue of Shape Magazine (March 09) I read about lobotoMe and I need them! I found out they are sold at the Container Store which I pass everyday on the way home for work! They are notepads designed and created for specific purposes like planning your meals for the week and keeping track of your workouts.
My favorite pads are the FitMe & FeedMe

I received the "your blog is fabulous" award from both Drew & Ashley and My life, my world, my words . They are both two of my favorite blogs! Drew & Ashley is currently holding a cute giveaway from Swoozie's place!
I would like to pass the award along to:
Little Miss Sunshine
Daily Life Of A Dallas Wife
Hello Cupcake
In This Wonderful Life
Just The 2 Of Us

Lent & Spring Style
For Lent, David & I are both giving up Starbucks, It's A Grind, and Fast Food. Note Chipotle will not be considered fast food. We are both addicted to Starbucks & It's A Grind. We alternate between the two and basically get coffee or tea for both of us almost every day of the week. I will still drink my coffee & tea from home. We do not eat fast food that often but we have been more and more lately so we will use this as a starting point to eliminate it from our diets completely. What is everyone else giving up?
My boss is out sick he had to go to hospital, my other coworker had to go to another branch and my final coworker just showed up late for work she got a DUI and they impounded her car so she is on the phone calling her attorney and such, so basically running the office by myself while catching up on back work...... I wish my vaca could have lasted a lot longer.
I have been tagged by Sweet Melissa to make my own Spring Palette! Some of the items are included on my Wists on the side bar for my blog. I'm really into yellow & pink for this spring.
This is my first Polyvore, so forgive the messyness I am still perfecting the art.
I tag my 6 latest followers:
Shortbread
The Life of the Wife
That's Sassy
Always Pretty In Pink
In Good Faith
The Ratpack
I can't wait to see yall's picks!

Hey Cupcake
On our final vaca day together, David & I had lunch at Lambert's followed by coffee at Jo's . I had an Irish Cream latte. We then walked down South Congress and went into the cool shops. I found a lot of places I will go back to for shopping for Unique Things.
Here is a cool sign on Soco with David's head in the picture
Hey Cupcake was closed but I was very greatly amused that they have Michael Jackson cupcakes.
Some views I captured on our walk down Congress yesterday.
Now I'm off to catch up on blogs, magazines, go the gym & enjoy my last day off before returning back to the real working world where I will work to save up more PTO to take another fun vacation!

Cafe Magnolia & Texas History
Yesterday David & I had brunch at Cafe Magnolia . The place was packed we had a 30 minute wait, it was worth it!
After brunch we headed North on Congress and spent the rest of the afternoon at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum . It very interesting. My favorite fact I learned, Neiman Marcus was originally started in Dallas. The museum had pieces of the first items sold along with orginal newspaper ads for Neiman. I love shopping what can I say!?!
Sweet Melissa tagged me & I promise I will get to it tomorrow. This will be our last day exploring Austin. David is in sales and has a big contract that will make up a large amount of his quota that is trying to get in before Thursday, so he is going back to work tomorrow. I still have off and I plan to catch up on my blogging & magazine reading to relax before work again on Wednesday.
David & I are now headed back downtown for lunch and to visit a few more spots.

Vaca So Far
Friday we worked out at the gym having our pick of any equipment we wanted, took Riley to run at the lake, got oil changes, basically all the things we do on the weekend but during the week with no crowds is much more enjoyable!
Yesterday it rained but luckily not all day. We were going to go to Dallas for David's best friend's birthday, but I fell off the sofa onto a remote. I have a huge bruise on my leg the purple & black kind. It is about the length of my entire hand to give you a visual size. When I fell on the remote it hit my tailbone and I'm pretty sure I bruised that as well. Needless to say I did not feel like riding in a car for 3 hours so we apologized profusely to David's friend and will go sometime in the next upcoming weeks.
We did go to The Melting Pot . After we ate I felt as big as a house. we ordered Boston Lager Cheese, Fondu Feast for our entree, California Salads, with Cookies & Cream for desert. I also had 3 Ying & Yang Martinis, they were not strong at all but made with Godiva and it tasted like I was drinking ice cream...So Good!!
Today I am missing my favorite day of Mardi Gras, Ernst Cafe's Bacchus Bash. Bands play while drink & food stands serve all day. I really wish I was there, I haven't missed a day there since Emily & I first went.
Although David & I are going downtown today. It should be fun!
Riley is going to come downtown with us, traveling in a Vera Bradley tote.....KIDDING!

Austin Staycation
David & I had planned to go back to New Orleans for Mardi Gras so we both took off work February 20-24! We are not going now.
We decided to save the money on traveling, food, drinks etc...so we thought it would be a great idea to play tourist in Austin and the surrounding areas. You see we have never had 5 days off in a row together when I moved to Austin in August it took me a month to find a job, but David had lived here since April and already had his job.
For the holidays we went to Louisiana to visit our family so this will be the first time we can just explore the city together and we have a lot of fun things planned! I have a light day of work ahead. We have an office surprise birthday party planned for my boss. Then I'm off for my mini-vaca!
I received an email from Nordstrom telling me the new Spring Uggs were in. Really not a huge fan of Uggs to begin with but these are just beyond hideous!

Betsey Johnson Fashion Show
After seeing the invitations I could not wait to see pictures from Betsey Johnson's show at Fashion Week for her Fall 2009 collection. Her styling is always outrageous and I would never really wear it as she has it styled at the shows, but it is still fun to look at her vision for the clothes!
Here are my favorite looks from the show.

And my favorite more wearable pieces:

I have been swamped at work, as I am taking a mini vacation from the office starting Friday!!!! but more on that tomorrow. I haven't had time to catch up on all the designers of fashion week or any one's blog, hopefully can do that sometime today!

Valentine's Recap
I had a great Valetine's Day!
We had breakfast at Juan In A Million , I admit we went there after seeing it on the Travel Channel's Man v. Food
We hung out the rest of the day then David had a surprise, I left the apartment and came back to this:
Our dining table with Pink Tulips in a red vase, hearts strung, and candles! The menu included: Poached Pears with candied pecans, goat cheese & greens, Chicken Saltimbocca, Potato Souffle, Grilled Asparagus, Rolls, and Vanilla Cheesecake with Beery Sauce, and a bottle of Pinto Grigo!
I wasn't aware the surprise was happening that time, so I wasn't properly dressed but it was still so romantic!!!
David loved his gift, it was a 52 things I love about you book made with a card deck tied with ribbon.
The pages included things I love about David with funny pictures.
The pages here include:
You Are Sexy with a picture of David Hasselhof in a speedo,
You are Way Hotter than Jude law....then it points out Jude Law's receeding hairline.....David always joke with me because I will watch any movie with Jude Law in it just to see some eye candy,
and the one of the other pages I did says: You Take Me On Fun Dates with a picture of Alamo Draft House because I had such a fun time there!
While I would love to take complete credit for the gift, I found the idea of doing a card deck book on Craftster Sayings and Pictures were my own though :)
I love love loved Confessions Of A Shopaholic ! It is one of those movies I could watch over & over!
David has off work today, unfortunatly I am working.

Confessions, Awards & Valentines!
I am beyond excited that Confessions Of A Shopaholic comes out today. I have read the entire book series, even though the movie doesn't follow the book exactly, ie in the series Rebecca is British and doesn't move to Manhattan until the second book it seems in the movie the entire thing takes place in the US and no one has accents...I'm still going to love the movie, I just know it!
I won an award from The Tale Of A Southern Belle . Her blog is great! Check it out and follow!
I received the Love Ya award.
Rules do accompany this honor:
“These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.”!
I give the award to:
Confessions of a Southern Belle
Chanel Fashionista
Drew and Ashley
Running In Stilettos
My life, My World, My Words
Happily Ever After
Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman
Montana Musing of a Southern Girl
I need to make another stop by Michael's to pick up the finishing touches for my gift tonight. Tomorrow we are dropping Riley off at the groomers he has to be there by 8 a.m., then we are going downtown for breakfast where I will give David his gift. After we pick up Riley, David has the rest of the Valentine's Day planned which will be a surprise for me!! I know at some point this weekend David promised we would see Confessions, probably Sunday.
Anyone know their V-Day plans, are your men keeping it a surprise as well? I can't wait to read about everyone's fabulous weekends on Monday. Have a great time ladies!

Cupcakes
I need these cupcake bandages , I've decided.
I'm so excited it is almost Valentine's Day! Tonight I have to go get supplies to work on David's gift. I can not post what it is yet because David knows I have a blog and I believe he reads it from time to time so I don't want him to see and spoil the surprise!

Don't leave your lights on
Driving to work it was raining and kind of dark Monday morning, so I had my lights on, I usually do not use my lights in the morning because I have daytime running lights. So I forgot to turn them off and left them on from about 7:45 a.m. until 5:15 p.m.
David had to come by my work and jump my battery in my car for it to start. We basically both know nothing about how cars work and had to Wiki had to jump start a car, very entertaining.
Other than that and work not much else going on just so excited for the weekend, we have a lot of fun things planned! Nothing is new with Aly's situation.
More Valentine Things:
Chocolate Boyfriend
Hot Lips Phone
Heart Cooking Rings
Love Baking Pan

Alamo Drafthouse & Hearts
This past weekend David & I went to see He's Just Not That Into You at the Alamo Drafthouse Can I just say how much I love love love this place! It is beyond awesome before the movie starts they play old timey shorts and vintage commercials. Basically it has cabaret style seating and you order lunch/dinner while you watch the movie. The waitress comes around when you stick your order form like a flag where they can see it. Did I mention they have Abita there!!! I never thought I would see Abita Purple Haze in Austin, but it is here! The AD screens tv shows during the week with free admission and drink specials! They also show older movies with dinner and drink pairings, and audience participation shows such as Moulin Rouge and Power Ballad sing alongs... always something cool going on there!
I did not take any pictures of the Alamo Drafthouse but I found these via Google Images

With Valentines Day on Saturday, I will be posting cute Valentines Day themed things:
Magic Frog to Prince
Heart Ear Buds
I Love You Toast Stamp
There have been no significant changes with Aly's situation. She is still holding stable. The doctors are saying it could be 3 weeks before there is even any improvement and that we are in for a long haul.

Office Space & Aly update
This Sunday February 8, 2009. The movie Office Space is hosting their 10th year reunion party at the Paramount Theatre . The movie was filmed here in Austin and one of my favorites! This one-time only screening event will include special appearances by writer/director Mike Judge and members of the cast and crew (tba). Prices range from 18.00 to 76.50. Vip includes a pre-event cocktail reception, flair, an actual red Swingline stapler, and an after-party at Chotchkie's featuring pizza shooters, shrimp poppers and extreme fajitas!
You can view the event here
The Killers concert was amazing! I have still yet to upload pictures! I will get to that soon!
An update on my cousin Aly mentioned in previous post: They doctors believe her body started to reject the heart, which caused her to have a slight stroke. She does still have a virus. They have her on dialysis to filer out some of the fluid in her body and they are doing a plasma treatment to also filter out antibodies. She is still on a ventilator and doctors are waiting for blood culture results to return to determine what time of virus she has. As of right now she is expect to make it, a big improvement from Tuesday when the doctors thought they were going to loose her and had the family call the priest in. Right now we are all just waiting for the culture results to be certain on how to continue treating it. Thank you again for all your prayers, please continue as she is improving but still not completely out of critical stages yet.

Please Pray
My little 14 year old cousin who had Heart Surgery in November of last year, menitoned in this post here is not doing so well.
She contracted a virus which is attacking her heart, kidneys, she lost control of her bowels, and her blood pressure has bottomed out. The priest is now at her hosptial room.
I am freaked out because it was on Thursday she was texting, myspacing and facebooking me. If I would have known there is so much more I could have said.
She is beautiful and has so much more life ahead of her.
You can read about her foundation
